Legend. Incomparable. I ran into this place by accident. I crossed the street because of the shop window. This looks like the kind of place where you’d drink from a wineskin or something. A woodman’s shed. A fairy tale. The display is unlike anything you’ve ever seen in Paris. My immediate thought was that the pastries were either going to be life-affirming or horrible. I got a brioche canelle and some other thing with chestnut and prune. I’ve never seen either of these on offer anywhere else. Upon first glance, they look a little small, perhaps hard, maybe a bit burned. But… This pastry doesn’t feed your stomach; it charges your imagination. You’ve never had pastry like this before, but you’ll know in your guts that this is good, that this is right. You'll blow right by Proust's madeleine to tap into something that’s hundreds of years old. This is Ur-gourmandise. Shops like this are why Paris is magic. Don't tell your friends. Stay greedy.
Get to try one of the small croissants - they are slightly smoked and tightly layered so while small they are unique and delicious!
Very nice boulangerie. It is probably one of the most "BoBo" Parisian boulangerie i have come across, but the breads are nice, made with all organic flour. It's organic, so bread is dense but full of flavour. They also sell Pastries and breads from the south of France. The baker is actually from Nice.
The most amazing bakery in Paris. Best croissant I've ever or will ever have. It was down the street from my apartment so I went every day and was never disappointed. The man is an artist.
The very best, most wonderful boulangerie in the Latin Quarter. The aromas invite and entice and the beautiful presentation seals the deal. The owner/baker/sculptor is as kind and delightful as his exquisite creations. I had the pleasure of a preview each day I was staying nearby, since the aromas greeted me in my AirBnb. Initially I tried a fruit & nut roll which was dense with the fruit and nuts, just the right amount of rich dark dough to hold them together. It lasted me all day. Another morning I did get a croissant which was incomparable. I savored it as well. Loved every visit: the food, the art, the baker - really wonderful. Can hardly wait to visit Paris again!!!
